Sunday: Alibi…

There was some trouble at CAE this evening…

Students arrived to find a ‘murder scene’ at the school. They were told they were all suspects and needed to plan an alibi for the hour in which the murder happened.

Tomorrow, we will go to town where students will spend an hour collecting receipts, photos and bus tickets to prove their innocence in time for the court cases tomorrow evening.

The truth will revealed tomorrow…

Saturday: London!

Today we took a trip to the capital city of England, London. Students visited many interesting places including Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Greenwich and even enjoyed a boat trip on the River Thames!

The day was made even better by the fantastic weather. Both the students and the social activities team enjoyed the sunshine and beautiful views of London.

Friday: Grantchester and Egg catapult.

Today the students enjoyed some traditional English tea with scones, clotted cream and jam in The Orchard Tea rooms in Grantchester. After the delicious picnic we all played a match of football, some frisbee and we even attempted volleyball!

In the evening the students where tasked with building a catapult from four sticks, some masking tape and some string. The winning team where able to through their egg a distance of 79 feet!

Thursday Team building and Sports night!

Today was beautiful day! The good weather meant we where able to do the team building games that we couldn’t do yesterday!  The enthusiasm in the group was outstanding, and using good communication skills both teams fought hard to win. In the evening the fun didn’t stop! With sports day the students played football, tennis and basketball at the Girton recreation ground!

Wednesday Arts/Cooking and Disco Night

Due to some unexpected rain we had to switch our afternoon activities. Instead of the awesome teambuilding games we had planed we did some cooking and arts! In the kitchen we made some amazing vanilla cupcakes and in the arts room the students designed some cool T-Shirts. In the evening the students went to the international disco night,in Cambridge city centre, where we rocked some glow sticks that light up the whole place.

Tuesday: Treasure Hunt and Bowling

This afternoon, students played a real life version of Cluedo. This involved a race to search the school and gardens for hidden clues to discover who the ‘murderer’ was. The three teams enjoyed a close race. They then had free time and played pool, board games and ping pong.

Later in the evening, we travelled to town to play a game of ten pin bowling. Even the students who had never played before surprised the staff (and themselves!) with how well they did. Nachos were eaten, strikes scored and a fun evening had by all – including the social activities team. 🙂

Friday: Punting and Farewell!!!

Today marked the students final day at CAE! To say goodbye the social activities staff organised a trip to the city centre to go punting! Students enjoyed a trip by boat along the cities beautiful river for an hour and most importantly of all managed to avoid falling in and all escaped dry!

In the evening students were able to say goodbye to each other in a chocolate themed party! Games were played, far too much chocolate eaten and an emotional farewell was given as students departed for the final time!
